Casual

Tom Hall & Nalestar feat. Emiah

Tom Hall and Nalestar team up with vocalist Emiah for their debut on Gemstone Records titled ‘Casual.’ Powered by an irresistible vocal topline and rumbling baselines, this soulful house record strikes the sweet spot between funky energy and dark undertones.

‘Casual’ begins with a nuanced vocal verse backed by percussive drums and a filtered bass melody which creeps below the topline. After a prompt buildup, Emiah’s vocals are joined by a chord progression glued by the full force of a pulsating bassline. Brass stabs accentuate the drop along with an intermittent vocal chop motif.

Hailing from Budapest, aspiring Hungarian producer/DJ Nalestar has gained particular acclaim for his deep house style, which has won him multiple remix competitions such as Morgan Page’s Beautiful Disaster and Terra Naomi’s Nothing to Hide. He’s also released on labels such as UMG, KnightVision, and Strange Fruits. Shropshire-based Tom Hall is another newcomer to the Gemstone family with previous support from Joel Corry, Sam Feldt, Don Diablo, and BBC Radio 1. He’s also released on Strange Fruits and Perfect Havoc.
