2015 saw rising Revealed star Julian Calor release his debut artist album ‘Evolve’ which spawned hit songs ‘Evolve’ and ‘Cell’ that hit the #2 and #6 spots on the Beatport progressive house chart respectively. On top of this, his most recent song ‘Power’ reached #7 on the same chart and signalled Julian as a prime candidate for big things in 2016. With his latest release on Revealed Recordings, ‘Revive’ – out February 8th, he reinforces this further and kicks off his year with a massive progressive house anthem.
‘Revive’ adopts a more ethereal tone than its predecessors, but still retains the colossal beats that Julian is becoming known for. A towering crescendo leads into a euphoric chorus and a chopped up vocal track, demonstrating Julian’s talent to balance and mediate between styles, seamlessly blending a heavy hitting rhythm track with a more restrained and calculated melody.
‘Revive’ signals the return of one of the most promising young artists in the scene today, a shining light on both the Revealed roster and in the progressive house sphere at large. On ‘Revive’ Julian shows the world his undeniable talent in the studio, whilst simultaneously taking his sound in a new direction. Hear ‘Revive’ from February the 8th through Revealed Recordings.

After spending a week at the top of the Beatport progressive house chart in October of last year, Dannic and Sick Individuals’ smash hit ‘Feel your love’ gets an official remix package featuring contributions from Funkerman, Roulsen, DBSTF, and WAVO remix competition winners Olly J and Loax. Released February 5th, the remixes celebrate the huge track with a series of forward thinking, party starting and dancefloor filling re-workings.
Dutch native Funkerman provides a rousing slice of groove laden, vocal driven house that reimagines ‘feel your love’ as a jittering late night club anthem, whilst DBSTF’s colossal offering sees the track being taken in a euphoric, big room influenced direction with hints of electro house and dubstep shining through. Elsewhere, Roulsen provides a beat driven progressive odyssey packed with energetic piano riffs and an ingenious call and response structure. Finally, WAVO remix competition winners Loax & Olly J close the compilation with an assured, confident pulsating remix, one that hints at bigger things for both.

Dutch DJ/Producer duo Bali Bandits bring 2016 in with a bang with their brand new release ‘Mr. Meow’. After the success of ‘Bend It’, ‘Need Someone’ and ‘Oost’ on Revealed in 2015, the pair are drafted in again to bring their signature sound to the label and set them up for what is guaranteed to be a massive 2016.
‘Mr. Meow’ feels like a natural progression for Bali Bandits, as the duo bring in the New Year with the addition of a host of new sounds to their ever-growing palette. The track is punctuated by a soaring synth line and expertly pitched vocals, complimented all the time by a glittering arpeggio. The huge drop brings in a pumping side-chained bass that is guaranteed to get the dancefloor moving, while the breakdown combines a euphoric, uplifting melody and the sound of birds chirping that will have listeners dreaming of sun-drenched beaches and far-away festivals.
Having already garnered support from the likes of Hardwell, Dannic and Dyro in 2015, the next chapter looks to be an even bigger one for Bali Bandits. ‘Mr. Meow’ showcases the pair’s distinct sound, while demonstrating an evolution and freshness that is sure to propel them into the upper echelons of the dance music generation. After offering up the massive ‘Blackout’ as a free download earlier this month, Hardwell now returns with fellow Dutch megastar Afrojack on ‘Hollywood’ their hotly anticipated collaboration. With both artists representing the current cream of the dance music crop, it is fitting that the ‘Hollywood’ is audibly a cut above most other current releases, with their combined studio skills coming together to form the year’s first true banger. Out January 25th, ‘Hollywood’ is not to be missed.
Frantically alternating from bona-fide dancefloor filler to exotic hip shaker, ‘Hollywood’ brings together an eastern music vibe with typically huge Hardwell beats, and the big room attitude Afrojack is synonymous with. ‘Hollywood’ represents these artists at the top of their respective games, their complementing attitudes towards dance music synergising to form a track that encapsulates the best of both Hardwell’s euphoric big room sound and Afrojack’s energetic rhythms.
Through the combined might of Hardwell and Afrojack, undoubtedly two of the biggest DJs in the world, ‘Hollywood’ has become the track to top in 2016, a highly charged and immaculately produced big room anthem that will be a staple of sets worldwide come summer.
